To the Lake!

My family's version of a lake trip is to head 11 hours North on I-35 to Lake Superior, specifically between Duluth, MN and Two Harbors, MN.
To a place called Dodge's Log Lodges aka a little slice of Heaven on Earth. :)

While in Minnesota we stayed one night in Chaska. It's a short drive away from the twin cities and THE MALL OF AMERICA! My 2nd/3rd cousins live there. Sadly this time we only got to have dinner with one of my cousins, but it was good to see her! I hadn't seen her for five years!!

If you're ever up that way you MUST eat at Cuzzy's, the food is SO yummy and fairly priced as well.
Oh and IF you do not stop at the local ice cream joint called It's Just Perfect! you will greatly regret it. Best ice cream around.

Day two of the "lake trip" started off with what else....THE MALL OF AMERICA y'all. EEEEKKKKK.
Went into a decent amount of shops and came out with not too much, but managed to spend $70. Three camis for 6 bucks each isn't too shabby. I got a cardi and light weight pj pants for $27. Last but not least a E monogram tervis tumblr, with a pink lid and 6 pack of straws for $25. We ate lunch at BWW.

After the mall we jumped in the Ford Edge we had rented for the trip to make the three hour drive to Duluth/the cabin. The cabin is closer to Two Harbors though.

While in the Duluth/Two Harbors area we ate at the Lighthouse at Emily's for dinner...SO yummy and seriously the best cheesecake around!!!

There were bonfires held on the beach, smores made. Lots of pictures taken. Time was spent reading, relaxing, throwing rocks in the water, sleeping in, seeing family, trying new places and more.

We went to Gooseberry Falls, visited my grandpa's grave, saw a boat sitting in the harbor, stopped by the Lift Bridge in Duluth, and visited the train museum.

We FINALLY got to see family on Sunday before we left for home on Monday. We spent about 4 hours with them. Got to eat some great food, chatted, and shot a b.b. gun! Turns out I'm pretty good at shooting that thing.

That weekend was my great aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary! So it was great to be around to congratulate them on that, even though we didn't "go to dinner together" we actually ended up unknowingly eating dinner at the same restaurant that night but at different times! Thought that was too funny.

Overall it was a great trip! I highly recommend visiting Chaska, the MALL OF AMERICA, and Duluth/Two Harbors. All are great with friendly people, and super pretty!

I shall now leave you with some pictures from my trip. Have you ever been to MN?

All photos are mine.
